This year I wrote a stream of conciousness story for my mom... And yes, I wrote it on mothers day. I live life on the edge man.

I warn you, it's crazy. And fairly unedited since I gave it to her an hour after I wrote it, thus there may be tonnes of grammar and typo crap.

I hate being sick. I really, really hate being sick. I hate freezing one second and then boiling in your own sweat the next. I hate bloody flem and I especially hate bloody bloody flem. So for those of you that thought I died, well I didn't, I've just been suffering in bed since friday.

Highlight of the weekend? Ripping apart the special edition Incredibles DVD, that mover is filled with a sufficient amount of rock. Also getting a short visit from friends (I loves you Timo, Megs and Scotty-poo) and of course polishing off three bottles of ginger ale by myself. I'm so wicked.

Oh, and it turns out Tycho from Penny Arcade is a Decemberists fan. Look at the very bottom of friday's post, you know the italzized part. Mind you the majority of the post is about furry porn, but fancy that, Tycho.

Congrats to Timo, Gino, Asho, Tono and Coro for knowing some of my taste in music.
The ones you missed:
Hawksley - Don't Be Crushed/Autumn's Here/No Beginning and No End
The Hip - Emperor Penguin/ Vapor Trails/ 38 Years Old
U2- Untill The End of The World

[Sound check? |Hawksley Workman - For Him and The Girls - Don't Be Crushed]

I should probably elaborate on my good week, considering this is what this thing is for.

Well first off, I'm going to the university I want to. Yes, that's what the big I'm going to kings bit was. After a month of waiting, long after St. Thomas already accepted me I might add, it made me quite happy to find out they let me in the FYP. Hrm, my eccentricity meets the elitism of Kings... What has the world come to, eh?

Rootbeer fest was awesome, I'm glad I went to at least one of them. Besides, I loves me the spotlight. Yes, unlike the poor saps that fell victim to my merciless wit, I get to gloat over my victory!... in my livejournal... But it was grand overall, and most of the bands were at the very least entertaining.

There were also a few more up points, getting the high mark on a Plato test, becoming student of the week and blasting "The Soldiering Life" over the PA. It was grand really, I'm living the good life. Oh, an my seminars looking pretty good, at this rate we won't be up till 2am the night before.

Gah, I have so much writers block right now. I should be saying so much more about these events but the words, they refuse to emerge!

Aw screw it.

Cheers.

[Sound check? |Of Montreal - Satanic Panic In the Attic - Rapture Rapes The Muses]

So, here I am sitting with a bag of ice on my knee. This sounds great already I know.

Y'see this story starts with my wonderful sister deciding that she would not only use the TV in my room loudly, but also make a mess of the place. So, in the most calm tone I could muster I politely asked her to clean up her goddamn mess. While she did get her dirty dishes out of here she neglected most of the non edible mess. That didn't phase me much really, it was the aftermath that caused the physical pain.
So, we all go to bed and, just wouldn't you know it, I woke up and had to use the bathroom. So, I have to traverse the normally safe, yet pitch black, expanse of my room half asleep. I didn't stay half asleep long, no, that stopped when my right foot stopped doing its job. Y'see, it had slipped on a peice of paper/coloured pencil combination my sister had left on the floor. The unpleasant part was I came down on my left knee with most of, if not all of, my weight. After the pain set in I began to swear a blue streak at 3 AM, and if I would have been hurt my only saving grace was that one of the things she forgot to put back was the portable phone.

The next morning I limp out into the kitchen and ask her if she heard anything last night. She didn't of course, she could sleep though a goddamn nuclear attack.

Other than trying to rid myself of the last bit of swelling with ice (thanks Megan) things haven't been that bad.
Yes, there was a slight fallout over the events mentioned in entry past. And no, I'm not going to post what the events are in this journal. If you want to find out, ask me, I'll gladly tell you probably the least biased view of the events I can conjure.
But people getting involved in a situation that doesn't concern them and one that probably won't matter in a few months is nothing new at all. Its funny that the people who should be most disturbed and agitated by the situation are the most understanding.
Guess thats the way life is.

In closing, I gots to get me this new Decemberists album. From what I've heard its the awesome.

Cry havoc... [Mar. 20th, 2005|07:36 pm]
[How's it going? |numb, fantasticly numb]
[Sound check? |Tom Waits - Bone Machine - In the Colosseum]

No justice here, no liberty
No reason, no blame
There's no cause to taint the sweetest taste of blood
And greetings from the nation
As we shake the hands of time
They're taking their ovations
The vultures stay behind
In the colosseum
In the colosseum tonight

Ready for a week of chaos kiddos? I know I am... I certainly know I am.
To think when we left on break everything was normal, whatever we define normal as now a days. But when we come back we see a pile of people absorbed in their own problems, but will it be enough to break our beloved cliques into factions? I have no idea really. I have no fucking clue.

All I know is I was supposed to be crushed but I wasn't. Thats a humongous victory when you think about it. Maybe I'm finally shaking off some of that blasted humanity, maybe it wasn't there in the first goddamn place. Perhaps I'm just a bit crazy.

An amazing amount of empty really, a fantastic amount of empty. I'm comfortably numb.

I apologize for the lack of funny, but its my bedammned journal and I do what I want with it. Now more lyrics.

Now it's raining and it's pouring
On the pillaging and goring
The constable is swinging
From the chains
For the dead there is no story
No memory no blame
Their families shout blue murder
But tomorrow it's the same
In the colosseum

[Sound check? |Hawksley Workman - The Delicous Wolves - Your Beauty Must be Rubbing Off]

I have ordered Hawksley Workman's book Hawksley Burns for Isadora. For the painfully unaware its a collection of love poems written to the imaginary woman Isadora, AKA the music, that he submitted to Toronto newspapers' personal sections. The tiny poem's gather a cult following and only added to the wondfuly eccentric Hawksley's personality.

If you know me you know that I listen to eccentric people because I too am far beyond normal.

If you haven't lisend to any Hawksley Workman you are doing yourself a grave disservice. You're missing out on a great poet, lyricist and musician. Its really not one of those mindlessly patriotic things, you know, "I listen to him because he's Canadian!" Although I do listen to a lot of Canadain music my adoration for Hawksley isn't based on that.

Please excuse this opinion drenched post, but this is my space. I do what I please.
Expect more on this when my book arives.

That is all.

Dear Sony,

I'm sorry we fought. I found out today it was all microsoft's fault. I know he's been trying to drive a wedge between us forever. I'm a fool for blaming on you.

I talked to a friend (thanks Corey) and he made a sugestion. I think it fixed the problem, I had to get an update out of Microsoft. No I didn't get mad, I was calm.

What I'm trying to say to you is, well, I guess I want you to come back to me. I really want to put that goddamn Hawksley Workman on my MD player.

Love,
Dan Rodgers

Dear Sony,

I cannot get your Sonicstage softaware to work. I've reinstaled it multiple times and asked around for help. I would check your help file but you seem to lack infortmation on "Doesn't fucking work."

As you can see I have a problem.

Right now I'm typing in my livejournal to see if my friends can help me fix and/or lend me alternate software so I can put some goddamn Hawksley workman on my Minidisc player.

Thanks alot,
Dan Rodgers

Reality Livejournal, now with more voteing [Jan. 26th, 2005|08:45 pm]
[Sound check? |Weezer - The Blue Album - Say it Ain't So]

Ok Livejournal family, I've decided in the interest of confusing the hell out of my real family my future desktops will all be fake error messages.
To boot this off I'ma letting you guys choose which one will go up first:

If you don't get these jokes feel shame. )

Ok on to the boring stuff you don't care about.

Past few days have consisted of two polar opposites: Awesome and suck. Also known as hanging out and studying. But in the interest of getting marks on par with my dashing good looks (Or at least good one) I must study. Besides, Weezer makes the study go down.

Day uno consisted of going to the mall with el Meghan followed by taking the bus to el Timo's house. From there Tim, Ben and myself exposed her to the traumatic world of three dorky guys playing video games. Video games about Ninjas. Hang in there, this isn't the last time ninjas come up, so I'm bribing you with ninjas to keep reading.
Jess came over and we soon left to give Th' Tim and Th' Jess some couple time. Sir Benjamin drove me home and Meghan to work. I returned home for some hardcore studying of the blue album Global History and Bio. But I did listen to said album, it was enjoyable.
I then returned to El Timo's by means of Molly and Deborah, so I mooched a ride again. This was mostly because sometime between Ben driving me home and the time I needed to waste his gas again his car broke down. There goes my license by proxy.

But still, it was fun. I got bored of Halo fairly quickly and decided to harass people on my MSN from the land of not my house. Other people quickly got bored of everybody's favorite shooter and began to crowd me as I typed furiously to the background music provided by Anthony. Then comes Russia Mark! We assed around someone with the video games, computer and background music. That was until a car arrived in the form of a different Megan. We proceeded to Martha's Pizza for some garlic fingers.

Pros: Tasty grease, funny conversation, ex-Olympic boxers who asked a ton of fun trivia questions.
Cons: Burning grease, no opportunities to kill friends, boxer falls into archetype "Big black man"
Hilarity: Big black man prompting little white Tim to "pound it."

Then instead of returning home like a good boy I snuck into Tim's house and crashed there. Nobody was the wiser... 'Cept Anthony, but he had playing guitar with no pants important affairs of state to attend to.

For those of you waiting for the ninja, it was me. I snuck the hell out the house when I woke up. I was like a ninja that killed people by watching Indiana Jones and sleeping. Even though I didn't kill anybody you have to admit that would be the greatest ninja magic fuel ever.

Today I of course studied, but I also went Downtown with many of the people I had hung out with the day beforehand. Other than going to a few used clothing shops, Freak Lunchbox, Tim having an orgasm over a CD and a ham and Swiss melt it was a fairly uneventful downtown trip. I'm starting to wish I had more balls power or BP for those RPG-types. for a guy who's had samurai duels in the street, extreme pranced and of course made an ass out of myself on stage I'm sometimes surprised by my amazing lack of male genitalia. Also known as balls.
Riding on the bus is always good for entertainment though. Plans were made and sideprojects discussed. I think I may actually work on them soon.

That's all. You may stop listening up and settling down.

The internet is the new gay [Jan. 24th, 2005|03:24 pm]
[Sound check? |The Killers - Hot Fuss - Midnight Show]

Snow. Blessing and a curse I tell you. All the steps at my house make for quite the difficult shovel, at least we have a snow blower for the driveway part. Of course Paul refuses to put the snow blower anywhere but one of the highest decks. I don't blame him, but that bedammned thing is heavy.
The plus side is everybody gets quite a few more days to study for their last exam. Since mine is a history course taught by everybody's favorite loud, large and obnoxious (but strangely loveable) CPA teacher, it's a relief for me. Take that world.
Oh! And my Drama exam was practical and in class. That means I practically have this week off (to study).
That was if it wasn't for Sir. Meadington of Biology, his exam is going to be a pain in the ass. I figure by studying everything that's not on the outline I'll do pretty well. Course that's just from taking hints form his normal tests, crazy ass guy.

Well, that was bitter.

Soon I'll begin CPA news semester two: [clever subtitle]. This will be the part where I take the army of writers I built and fill the newspaper with ROCK and AWESOME. Drive out all the suck and turn it into a weapon of mass communication.
I may raze and pillage a few villages/classrooms/weak looking tenners on the path to greatness and hopefully it will only raise my credibility in the little dictators club. All I have to do is worry about Mr. Lewis' arbitrary decision and that kid that looks eerily like Gandhi, he must be up to something.
Slow talking principal and Gandhi-kid aside things are looking up... Now, if only I could either motivate Keirsten to do something or possibly I'll have to liquidate her... Hrm... maybe carbonate her. Would anybody buy that? Nah.

And remember, when harassing people at work always end the conversation on something totally random. Never apologize either, let those damn monkey physicists and cardboard robotics majors sulk.

[Sound check? |Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand - Come on Home]

This is shaping up to be a very, very bad month.

In all aspects really, not just exams and crap. I knew that stuff was coming. It's the unexpected crap that messes you up.

Ok, I decided to write more than that tiny post. I felt like I needed to say just that little bit, but I want to say more after all.

I'm worried about the drama productions, well, one of them. I have confidence that Tim's isn't gonna suck, but I don't want yearbook to blow. I'm not spiteful like that, I wouldn't wish a bad performance on the rest of the class just because well... Most of them deserve it, but that's no reason to wish anything on them.
I'ma gonna set up a schedule for my exam/final projects. The only good thing about the fruit fly project in Bio is it leaves me a tonne of time to do my other crap.

I never thought I would have to deal with social life stuffums, mostly because I didn't have much of a social life up until this point. Amazing what I've been missing, a steamy pile of crap that you love and hate at the same time.

Vague, that would describe this entry.
